Taste of Opera A Taste of Opera is the perfect introduction to every opera. Free and open to the general public, A Taste of Opera provides a unique opportunity to enrich your understanding and enjoyment of the season with entertaining guest lecturers, artist roundtable discussions, and free recitals. Presented at the historic Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, A Taste of Opera is held on Sunday afternoons from 2:00-3:00pm approximately one week before each production opens. Presentations will be held in the rotunda of PAFA’s Historic Landmark Building at 118 North Broad Street. Refreshments will be available for purchase by Jimmy Duffy & Sons catering in the Academy Café and in the Washington Gallery. While A Taste of Opera is free, reservations are required to attend. Reservations can be made by emailing your name, phone number, address, and the number of people in your party to outreach@operaphila.org. Reservations must be received by the Thursday before the event. The Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts is home to one of the country’s most acclaimed American Art collections, featuring work by Mary Cassatt, Thomas Eakins, Georgia O'Keeffe, Andrew Wyeth and many other artists.
