Cyrano - Week Three

From left to right, Marquis de Brisaille (baritone Eric Dubin), Marquis de Cuigy (tenor Torrance Blaisdell), Ragueneau (tenor Mark T. Panuccio), and Ligniere (bass Kenneth Kellogg).

Cyrano, baritone Marian Pop (center), interrupts a performance by the actor Montfleury, Christopher Hodges (left), to ridicule the actor that he says once looked at his beloved Roxane and was like "looking at a long slug sliding on a flower."

Fourteen years after the death of her beloved Christian, Roxane, soprano Evelyn Pollock, now lives in a convent where she has weekly visits from her cousin Cyrano.
The baker Ragueneau, tenor Mark T. Panuccio (left), inspects one of the delectable delights made in his pastry shop.

Backstage is a maze of the giant pieces that make up the set for Cyrano. While it may seem disorganized, they are all carefully stored so that they can be quickly moved into place onstage at the appropriate times.

Stagehands must work quickly and carefully during scene changes to transform the Academy of Music stage into 17th Century France.
